'Your ideas, our expertise’ is our ethos and that is why we continuously talk to our clients, helping them to provide the best plants for their designs.
The most challenging issue is seasonality in the garden, especially when planted up in the Autumn or Winter. We realise that only designing year round gardens ensures that your clients home is surrounded by colour and interest through all four seasons. Our mission is to find the most reliable varieties of plants that will perform very well in Ireland. Our production list is based on hours of conversations with our clients, years of horticulture experience, regular visits to the plant shows, flower trials, etc.
These are our recommendations for the season 2017/2018 which, in our opinion, will add value to each garden and make them attractive twelve months of the year.
Helleborus niger ‘Snow Crystal’ having masses of large white flowers against very dark green foliage. We spotted that plant in Essen and 4 of us agreed that this one of our best plant at the show. This is a very classy plant and it has very good reviews in Europe.
Lavandula ‘Ghostly Princess’ is an outstanding garden performer. This compact form of Lavandula was a finalist in the new plant awards at GLAS and forms a perfectly rounded mound. In our opinion it will become our No.1 seller in 2018. The test batch was very highly ranked.
Allium Millenium is a great companion plant for Lavandula. This is a Summer flowering variety that grows up to 60cm and it is covered with plenty of pink globes. Flowers are attractive to butterflies and they last a few weeks. We are delighted to have Allium in flower in June and July.
And lastly, Hydrangea paniculata ‘Bobo’. The flowers are held upright on strong stems, and continue to grow and lengthen as they bloom. No flopping, unlike some paniculata hydrangeas! As the blooms age, they turn pink. It is compact and the flowers cover every inch of the plant right down to the ground. We have hundreds of them planted at the entrance.
