Tully Nurseries, Ireland’s premier supplier of plants in Ireland and the UK, has just been awarded ‘Best in Show’ at the HTA National Plant Show in Coventry. The North County Dublin nursery and garden centre’s Hebe ‘Rhubarb and Custard’ was selected as the overall winner in the New Plant Awards category over 100 other entries. The plant is noted for its distinctive spiky foliage, nice rounded habit and the added benefit of cream, pink and green foliage Hebe ‘Rhubarb and Custard’ is set to be a popular plant for its year round colour and lilac flowers in June and July. It is an evergreen plant which is easy to grow, and will be available for sale in 2013 in Tully Nurseries Plant Centre. Hebe ‘Rhubarb & Custard’ is part of Tully Nurseries new Bella Bloom branded Hebe collection.
Commenting on the award, Niamh Tully, Marketing Manager for Tully Nurseries said, “We are absolutely thrilled with the news that Rhubarb and Custard has won Best in Show. We have been breading our new Hebe dessert range for over 18 months and we are delighted that our hard work has been acknowledged. The range also features other specimens such as, Pink Candy and Strawberries and cream.”

With its striking foliage and lilac flowers it has the ‘wow’ factor and within a plant area will catch the eye of the gardening public presenting tremendous potential for garden retailers.”
